decision made...

I FINALLY found a place in Houston that carries slabs of the new Caesarstone colors.
Can you believe that in a city this big that it was like looking for a needle in a haystack?
I'd call before venturing out and everybody would say they had the new colors.
I'd drive across town only to be shown a 2 x 2 sample chip.
Oy vey.
Thankfully Caesarstone updated their website last week and I found this place
so off I went with my friend Laura who had the day off.
The two that I was torn between were Frosty Carinna and London Gray.

Here's the frosty carinna:

and the London Gray...

Up close of the London Gray...
up close of the frosty carinna:

here's me trying to get a shot of the London gray against other slabs so
that you can see the true color...kind of anyway.

real marble...think this was labeled "Calcutta marble"

and this is why you have to pick your individual slabs...
this too was labeled as Calcutta marble.
Big difference in the veining right?

So after wandering the warehouse with my peep Laura
{thanks again for being my sidekick/navigator yesterday}
we both decided we liked the London Gray the best.

It had more veining and marble-ing like, well, real marble.

So we took our big sample of London Gray and went to Daltile.
Sorry for these pics...the lighting inside Daltile was awful.

but I think you get the drift of how it will look with subway tile as the back splash.
Waiting on an updated bid from the contractor and hoping my heart survives the sticker shock.
If it doesn't at least I don't have to do that dang triathlon this weekend right?

  2. Is there anyway you could email me a picture of your completed countertops? I can't find a decent pick of london gray installed anywhere online. I'm wondering if it's more brown or more gray. I have to order mine today and I just found your blog. chelseamahuika @ gmail . com
