photo dump... the house we fell in love with

during our trip to Palmetto Bluff last month...

This house has my name written all over it.
Not only that but it was screaming my name every time I saw it.

Come on in...

You enter into this...

a nice little area with a fab light fixture.

Immediately to the right is the dining room
{so to the left in the picture above...}

Love the floors, the walls, the outlets in the baseboards, and the chandy.

The guest bath is in a little hallway right off the dining room...

I love the light fixture...just not sure I'd have put it in the half bath.
{My eyesight is fading with age so I'd go with more than one bulb.}

Right across from the powder room is a little bar area...

Love the wine fridge...good excuse to drink more, am I right?

Exit the little hallway and you're in the family room.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the fireplace with Savannah gray bricks.

The design plan called for a nice big chandelier
but for some reason
they installed two ceiling fans.

In the picture above you can just barely see the front corner
of the kitchen island...

I like the kitchen
but the pendants were not what I would have picked.
They just seemed out of place in this house...
much like the modern hood.
It just didnt "fit" right with the farmhouse feeling.
I'd tweak those but that's just me.
Love the marble countertop and the basketweave backsplash.

You can see the lake from all the windows along the back of the house.

The master is downstairs.
For some reason I dont have any pics of the bedroom itself
but here's the master bath...

the shower...

I rarely take baths but that might change with this view...

double vanities...

There is a guest bedroom and bath right across from the master.
That was the big thing that didnt work for us about this house.
More on that later.

Upstairs are two bedrooms and two full baths...

bathroom one...

bathroom two...

There is also a storage room that could be tweaked to be a bedroom
as well as a sitting area right outside the bedrooms.
If only they had put the downstairs guest bed and bath up
and the storage room down...now THAT would have been perfection.

Perfection did exist in the house though.
Did I mention the lake views?

Our boys had already decided who was sleeping where
and were planning furniture arrangements.
Apples don't far fall from the tree do they?

Two more views from the outside...

I know I sound nitpicky but don't get me wrong.
We fell in love with this house
Head over heels in fact.
But it takes a lot
to uproot a family of five
from a very blessed life
in the great state of Texas.

Are we moving?
Yes.

Soon?
I don't think so.

Too many things would have to fall into place,
too many miracles would have to align in the universe.
And alas this beautiful house won't wait for us.
Some lucky ducks are going to buy this lovely and be quite pleased.
But we're happy knowing that we can build a similar one
with a floorplan that better fits us and our family's needs.
The builder was phenomenal and we would use him in a heartbeat.
In the meantime we're renovating our kitchen
and that's plenty of DIY and rearranging for me right now.
