mirror mirror on the wall

I've seen this mirror twice now on two different blogs and felt strangely drawn to it...

Austin Studded Octagon Mirror | World Market

wondering if it would work in our little entry foyer? The dimensions aren't mentioned online which means I have to traipse over to world market. Oy. But its on sale. Does it look coastal to you?

Here it is in a music room ala design dump:

Add it to the list of things that make you go hmmm?

my new favorite show

this show is awesome! how did i miss it? well its canadian and its on a channel called Living Well Network (channel 315 on comcast in case you have it)...drumroll please...

Its called "Steven and Chris" and its all about design. LOVEs it! And if you're obsessive about DIY, design, decorating, etc and you know you are then you'll love it too.

i could cry...

I felt this way two weeks ago when I ran another half marathon.

What made me feel this way today?

Its a pillow.

If you only knew how long this has been on my to-do list.

I bought the chiang mai last spring on ebay (had to figure out ebay first).

I made other pillows for our bedroom with it but this one is different...

I used piping trim!
That's a first for me.

I googled the instructions and searched locally
for a zipper foot for my cheapie sewing machine.
No luck until I found one on amazon.
I found the trim at Joann's...I wanted a blue color like peacock blue
but alas this was what they had in stock and it IS my beloved appley green.

The lamps still bother me but just put it on the list
because I'm declaring this room DONE!

beauty product junkie

junkie...that's the nice version of what I used to call myself and no I won't say the old DH said no cursing in the new year. I know. Talk amongst yourselves.

this guy is a genius...Ole Henriksen...I found this set years ago and swear by it. I try everything but this kit I always keep in stock:

Three Little Wonders ($101 Value)

three little wonders kit

I'm thinking of ordering this...

I've heard great things about it but still on the fence.

One thing I've learned from experience and what I keep telling my younger sisters...if there's one "Key Rule": over 40 = (your old cleansing regimen) + retinol

I love me some Neutrogena but they changed their formulations and at 41 I'm not a big fan right now. I found this recently and like it, doesnt cause breakouts, seems to work:

RoC Retinol Correxion Sensitive Night Cream

Roc Retinol Sensitive

These are on my "try" list:

Product photo for Amazing Base® SPF 20

Jane Iredale mineral foundation

Acqua Di Parma Colonia Men's Fragrance

Dr. Lewinn by Kinerase Under Eye Recovery

kinerase under eye rescue

So I read an article on Jennifer Aniston and her beauty routine...she must have a movie coming out. Oy. Anyway - these are supposedly her key products so of course I'm taking notes:

Automatic Lip Pencil Duo
Estee Lauder, fig

in the way overpriced category we have  Mila Moursi Rejuvenating Serum and Cle de Peau Beaute Eye Contour Essence (say that three times fast). These are a bit more affordable but still not sure I'd try them:

Moisturizing Day Cream

bronzing powder in Terre Ambre

this I've actually tried and it works nicely

"Hello Flawless!" SPF 15
tiny picture, big price, for foundation anyway. La Mer

and finally good old neutrogena facial buy in the bunch

Neutrogena Original Formula Transparent Facial Bar - 3.5 oz

Favorite shops:
sephora (cant beat their free shipping and free samples, join "insider" club for extras)

QVC (check your favorite brands here, they usually have special deals, freebies, or just plain bigger sizes for the same $$)

Beauty Bar (free shipping, coupon codes, free samples)

things for the boys' rooms

I've debated about getting one of these to the twins' room ever since I saw the way Holly did it in her boys' room...

these are really cool too:

and because my heart is firmly planted in Texas now
I Love Texas Printable

or another idea

Thinking that I should press the easy button and just start with the closet full of artwork they made in preschool and frame those?

Definitely on my to-do list:

a big "Z" a la Isabella and Max blog  . I have a ton of little z's but I want a big one, just not the big price tag. I've been thinking about cutting one out of foam board. Hmmm?
