let them eat soup!

You know I put it out there in the universe
that I was going to try one new recipe a week.
This week it was soup.
This soup to be exact...

I was over at my friend Tarsy's house the other day
and this was cooking on the stove.
It looked like it had taken her all day.
She laughed and got the back out of the trash
to prove that it was indeed a soup mix.
I couldn't believe it.
Thankfully I remembered to look for it at my grocery store.
She'd gotten it at a different grocery chain
but sure enough
I looked on my grocery's soup aisle and there it was.
For under four bucks I might add.
Roasted Garlic Potato Corn Chowder.
Or heaven in a bowl.
Even my boys ate it.
It was so good I forgot to take a picture
until somebody was on their third bowl.
You know.
For proof I actually cooked it :)
It was easy peasy to make...
cook some bacon in a stock pot first
{then I decanted all but a tiny but of grease}
then add chopped up onion and garlic.
Saute those for a minute.
Add like four cups of water and the bag contents
except for the flavoring mix
bring to a boil
then simmer for 30 minutes.
Then you mix the seasoning bag
with nearly 3 cups of half and half
{I know, how can it have that much and not be good}
then simmer a few minutes more.
In case your grocery doesn't carry it
you can get it through amazon.
Happy cooking!
